84% Might as well be an F

As you all know, I just had a test in anatomy on the muscles. My group and I studied for 16 hours in 3 days plus the other numerous hours we spent studying the muscles at other times. When test came I was sure that I aced it. I just knew that I got in the high 90's, after all my lowest test score so far was a 93% and I studied the most for this one. I was pretty sure that I got a 98%, I remembered one that I knew I got wrong. I couldn't wait to get my test back...

Well We got our tests back today in the lab and I only got an 84% I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO mad. I think one of the worst feelings in the world is knowing you did your best and your best just wasnt good enough, well I had A LOT of that feeling inside me. I am not proud of this, but i got so angry that I ripped my test, crumpled it up, threw it on the floor and I think a little steam was coming out of my ears. It was like in cartoons where their face turns red, their ears start steaming and in some cases their head actually explodes! I was almost there.

I have been getting so burnt out in this class, I was looking forward to getting this test back to give me a boost to keep going, to show me that if I put in the work when it gets hard it will be worth it and I will be rewarded... Well that is NOT what happened, I am more discouraged than ever and now I just want to make it through and have this class be over. I have another test coming up tomorrow and Thursday on the Nervous system, Senses and Endocrine system... I can only hope to do even half as well on this test as the last because the material is much harder and my motivation is about 1/300th of what it used to be.
84% might as well have been an F

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

BRAINS! My first anatomy lab presentation.

As all of you know, I am a slave to Human Anatomy... Last week I spent 20+ hours with my study group just studying for one test (on thursday)... Then it was on to studying and preparing for our lab presentation on the cadavers (today, tuesday). We had to present on the Central, Peripheral and autonomic nervous systems. Rather than digging around in the bodies to find nerves, the girls in the group opted to present on the brain... There was no pleasant option, just the lesser of two evils.

So we went to the lab Monday night to go over what we needed to know with the Tutors... It smelled bad, it looked gross and worst of all it felt gross! Just thinking that that was a real persons brains and at one point the conductor of all their thoughts and actions in life freaked me out.... Well I'm thankful its over, glad I had the experience because I learn better from hands on experience... if u have any questions about the anatomy of the brain... let me know.

But definitely not looking forward to our next presentation.. the REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM.. Duh duh duh... Playin with Dead peoples private parts does not sound appealing... I was always taught we weren't supposed to touch people there.. That's what i'm gonna tell Dr.G..

UPDATE!

Well, for all of you who follow my blog, or have stopped because there has been a lack thereof, here you go. An update of our first year married in a nutshell.

THE HONEYMOON!

When Bo and I were first married, you could definitely say we were short on money. Bo had just spent all of his hard earned money on my beautiful ring and the last of his bank account on our honeymoon. We decided to go to Las Vegas for a week. I was very excited because I had never really been to Las Vegas. Bo had it all planned out and kept it a secret from me, it was cute.

Well, the morning we left my parents' house, it was snowing like CRAZY! They tried to convince us not to go that day, but Bo was persistent because we couldnt get the money back for the hotel that night. I agreed to go, so we said goodbye to my family and Britt and Stef because they were there too and headed out.

As soon as we got out of Moab the weather was bright and sunny UNTIL.... We got about half way through salina Canyon, the very top. All of a sudden there was snow ALL over the road, luckily we slowed down in time not to get in a wreck. There were a bunch of cars stopped and we wondered why but we couldnt see. We wondered how long we would be there, so we turned off the car and just listened to music for awhile.. Well about half an hour later we went the start the car and it was dead... The wind was blowing SOOOO hard outside the car and snow was blowing everywhere, but we proceeded to knock on the windows of about 5 cars that surrounded us to see if they had jumper cables, none of them did....

I was SO hungry, all we had to eat was some of our wedding cake that my mom sent with us. I was panicking about what we were gonna do when the hundreds of cars finally started moving and we were dead, stuck in the middle of the freeway. Well I said a little prayer (but having little faith, shame on me) I thought to myself, you always hear those stories where someone prays for something like this and it's answered right away, well that would never happen to us. Without saying anything to Bo, he literally turned the key less than a minute later and the car started!!!!! I was shocked, but EXTREMELY greatful.

We headed on our way and arrived in Las Vegas much after dark. We were both so exhausted we just went to bed. The next morning we went down to get breakfast and the prices were outrageous. We decided to go to Walmart and stock up, so yes, the first thing we did on our honeymoon was go to Walmart haha

While in Vegas we went to all the major hotel/casinos on the strip and walked around and took advantage of any free entertainment we could find. We went to see Siefried and Roy's Tiger exhibit (mine and Bo's favorite animal are tigers). We went to the Variety Show and then a Hypnotist. We had so much fun, even with little money. I can't wait to go back! We had many adventures that I look back fondly on.

LATER.... :)

Once the Honeymoon was over it was back to real life. We both worked at the same place, the same hours which was nice. Our first apartment was nice. It had 3 bedrooms, so plenty of space for our stuff. That semester was nice because neither of us had any classes on Fridays. Bo worked for Snow college on the grounds crew as well.

We had a very pleasant suprise when our Financial Aid finally came in. We had been reinbursed for the previous semester and after tuition was taken out we were both left with $4,000, it was a HUGE blessing. It helped us make it through. We also had quite a bit of money that we were given for our wedding that helped out a TON!

SUMMER...

At the beginning of the summer I was busy doing all my training and certifying to become a lifeguard at seven peaks. Bo was installing security systems for AMP security (Who suck by the way!) He was gone most days from between 10am-1 Until 11:30 or 12 at night, so I spent a lot of time alone and missing him. He was only at the job for about 2 weeks before they laid him off and he was out of work for almost a month. I started working at 7 peaks but only worked about 4 days a week. My brother offered Bo a job Mowing Lawns at 7 Peaks, and in desperation he accepted it. Bo had to be to work at 6:30 every morning, it was killer. We saw each other from time to time at work, so that was cool. All my friends thought he was way cute... I told them to back off.. haha

The summer was good. We worked a lot, but we also had a lot of fun. Went camping with Bo's family, Went down to Moab for Tori's 3rd birthday. Went to Lagoon with Kelly and Clint, So fun! Our apartment was kind of a bummer. We didnt get the one we wanted, and the one we did get was pretty crappy, they recently weasled us out of most of our deposit (never live at any of Continental Apartments in Provo.. )

I made a lot of friends at 7 Peaks, but by the end of the summer I was ready to be done. I was ready to move back down to Ephraim and get to see all our friends again...

Back at School.....

As usual, we had a hard time finding an apartment and ended up in an apartment that we werent extremely thrilled about. It feels like home now, but it took a little while. Both of our schedules are INSANE!! I am taking Human Anatomy.... I spend most of my time studying for that class, and the rest of my time giving some thought to my other 5 classes.

Bo is taking quite a few hard classes and working for Snow College again. Recently our car broke down. We ended up having to get a whole new engine for it, we were NOT expecting that and it hit us pretty bad financially.... We then realized just how bald the tires on our jeep are (our 4 wheel drive vehicle is not much good in the snow without good tires) So we ended up spending another $520 on that. We feel very blessed to have the money to be able to do these things. We have never really had to struggle for money, but of course we always wish we had more :)

As of now we just applied to UVU and are planning on attending there in the spring. We want to settle down up in that area, so it will be nice to get up there as soon as we can. Bo will be working with his brother doing home theater and automation. They just started a business together, im very excited about it and hope that it is very successful. We are hit again with the struggle of finding an apartment and can't wait until we have the peace of mind of knowing where we will live next.

This was just a brief update of the past year... Obviously there is a TON of stuff I left out but I will try to be better at posting more regularly.

Pixie... Our new Kitty.

So.. I'm a sucker for animals.. Always have been, always will be!! The other day i went to Walmart to get some supplies, and on my way out noticed a boy giving away free kittens, i went over and looked, tempted to take one, but reluctantly walked away. I told Bo about it and that I almost got one, and jokingly said "You should have". At this point i was secretly regretting not getting one...

The next day I told Stef about it in Sports Med, I whispered to her that there was a guy giving away kittens in front of walmart and i wanted one, consequently she heard "There was a guy giving away kids in front of walmart..." No Stef... Kittens. anyway we decided to go to Walmart later that day and I told her if they were still there I was gonna take one home for real this time.. i really didnt think they would be there again.. but they were!!! So we went inside and got Stef some cereal, milk and index cards and proceeded outside where we went up to the kittens. I sat down and one ran up to me and sat next to me, my heart was officially melted, so being the softy and animal lover i am... i said "I'll take this one" the boys giving them away were thrilled!

I was nervous what Bo was going to say, he loves animals quite a bit too and we have been talking about getting a pet for quite sometime now, but it's hard when you move around from apartment to apartment. We really want a puppy, but a kitten will do for now lol... anyway at first he was suprized, but now im convinced he loves her more than I do! As of now she is staying up at Bo's Parents' house until we figure out if we can have her at our apartment this summer, if not, we will have to figure something out to do with her...

The Boogie Man.. A tale of one nasty ghost!

By popular demand I am recording the experience of our bizarre haunted apartment... you may find it funny, but I assure you it's less funny when you are the one experiencing it.... Here it goes..

DISCLAIMER: Not for the faint of heart or those with weak stomaches.

It all started about a month after we moved into our first apartment. I looked over at the wall on Bo's side of the bed and noticed two spots on the wall... but didnt think anything of it... Until about a week later when i decided to investigate. I went over to the wall to take a closer look and lo and behold there were 2 bloody boogers messily strewn across our wall.. SICK!!! Assuming maybe they were left there by the former tenants I ignored it and made Bo clean them off :)....

Weeks later I noticed another spot in the same place and thought.. no... it couldn't be!! So i went over and sure enough.. you guessed it, ANOTHER BLOODY BOOGER! So once again Bo cleaned it off and i started to be a little weirded out... But went on my merry little way... Meanwhile I noticed a series of handprints on the wall near where my guitar was, but they wouldnt come off, it was strange, also during this time we heard our clock fall out of the window seal in our bedroom a couple times while we were in the living room, which is odd because its pretty secure... anyway.. back to the boogers!

It had been awhile since we had experienced a "sighting" as me and Stef call it, until one day i walked into the bathroom and on the bathroom floor was a big nasty bloody booger.. once again SICK!! So i asked Bo to clean it up (oh and i must add that i have thoroughly interrigated Bo accusing him they belong to him and he swears they don't... I believe him.. ) So he kicks it out of the way (leaving it there) and claiming he will clean it up, this doesnt happen for about 4 days.. oh well! At this point im really starting to freak out because these boogers have to come from somewhere! At this point i was just waiting until the next sighting, I would get nervous everytime i saw a small dot anywhere in our house that resembled what I had already seen.

About a week later I was about to take a nice relaxing bath (sorry Stef) and I noticed a spot in the bath tub! YEP, another bloody booger. First of all strange that whoever or whatever it is that is getting so much enjoyment from both creeping and grossing me out chose boogers, second of all bloody boogers.... UGH!!

All of my friends think its so funny!! Which it kind of is but still very odd and a little creepy! I'm hoping that when we move, the bloody boogers will stay in this apartment... who knows what we will find while organizing and cleaning our apartment!!!

The End.... YUCK!

Our Blog...

It appears that the cool thing to do is to create a new blog for you and your husband when you get married. I have previously attempted a blog but it was unsucessful, maybe I will be more committed this time. Almost all of my married friends have blogs, I enjoy looking at them so decided to create one for us... not like we have that much to blog about but hey... here it goes!
